LNSC is a Charter Member of the US Club Southern Regional Soccer League which began play the Fall of 2008.

The Southern Regional Soccer League is expected to become the highest level of league play in the southeast. The league in its first year was only open for U15 and U16 girls. This  the league will expand to U15 to U17 girls and in future years to include boys up to U18. The focus is to provide a complete soccer experience, to get the best out of the players and teams and to expose the players to college coaches. Players are given college recruiting seminars and exposed to colleges all over the east. Teams play a minimum of 12 league games a year and as many as 10 tournaments, once a month. Travel will be year round with games on weekends in Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. There will be at least 3-4 ‘travel’ events where the team will travel on a regional/national basis to compete in ‘College Show Case’ events including participation in the US Club Summer National Championships for successful teams.

The LNSC teams playing in the Southern Regional Soccer League are known as the LNSC Carolina Eclipse.  Each team hase a nationally qualified coach who leads two to three training session per week working in conjunction with the Director of Coaching at LNSC. Coaches Chad Metzler, Geof Stearns and Jeremy Weeks model a high level of leadership skills and possess the motivation and communication skills to motivate their players to compete successfully at the highest levels of competition.

Each LNSC Carolina Eclipse team is given the opportunity to play and compete at a regional/national level requiring players to possess strong technical skills and possess a good understanding of the tactical aspects of the game. Each player is expected to know and understand the various roles and responsibilities of different positions on the field and handle the more complex strategies of play. The teams will learn to master tactics of defending, midfield play and the attack.

November Update
The 92 Eclipse team added to the program's tournament success this past weekend with a championship at the Roanoke Stellar One Cup. The team finished with a record of 4-0 and scored 15 goals while allowing just 2.
So far for the Fall, the Eclipse teams have a combined 5 tournament championships and one runner-up, with a perfect 5-0 record in championship games (the runner-up was based on points).
We hope to add to this total this coming weekend as the 93 and 94 teams will compete in the Lake Norman Fall Classic.
August Update
Well, the LNSC Eclipse have all made it through the pre-season. Each of the three Eclipse teams has played in two tournaments and each team has earned a 1st place finish (the 92s have also won a 2nd place finish based on goal differential). It is a good start. We (players, coaches and parents) have gotten more comfortable with each other and we all have a better understanding of what we want to do on the field.
Things are going to get harder now. The 93s and 94s begin NCYSA league play now, and the 92s start SRSL with some very strong competition (a trip to Charlottesville,VA followed by a trip to Charleston, SC). We have a great schedule for the year. It is one that is carefully thought out to get progressively harder as we go, and to eventually have all three teams playing at the regional level of competition. Our expectations are sky-high, and as we come off some success, it is VERY IMPORTANT that everyone realizes that we have a lot of work to do to improve to meet those expectations.
Jeremy and Chad are pleased with such a great start. But, there is a long, long way to go.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the 92 play at FCCA (Frank Liske Park) against a premier team. 7:30 if anyone is interested in coming to watch.
On Thursday, Sept. 4, the 93s will play against the 94s at South Elementary at 6:00.
Some Eclipse facts:
To date, the Eclipse program has a record of (W-L-T) 17-3-2, with 99 goals scored and 19 allowed.
